Between April 17 and 19, the Sustainability Institute Latin America and the Caribbean (InS), through its coordinator, Ma. Scheila Dillenburg, facilitated the first stage of the “Young Leaders for Buen Vivir” course, promoted by the Sínodo Noroeste Riograndense. The activity, held in Três de Maio-RS, is part of a four-stage training journey aimed at strengthening young leaders committed to promoting buen vivir within the church and in society.

Throughout the weekend, around 20 young participants took part in an experience marked by learning, community building, and collective reflection. During this first stage, participants explored the biblical foundations of leadership, as well as the importance of youth participation in social and community life. Through a participatory methodology that combined study sessions, group dialogue and integration activities, the gathering created a meaningful space for listening, sharing experiences and strengthening relationships.

The depth of the reflections, the engagement of the group and the openness to dialogue made this first gathering especially significant. The partnership with the Sínodo reaffirms InS’s commitment to educational processes that strengthen youth leadership and contribute to the formation of leaders prepared to act with sensitivity, responsibility and commitment to community and social transformation.

The course is organized by the Conselho Sinodal da Juventude Evangélica, in partnership with the Pastoral da Agricultura Familiar e Direito à Terra and will continue throughout 2026 with three additional training stages, further investing in the formation of young people committed to faith, social participation and the building of more just and supportive communities.
